Life is full of losses . We have them all the time in life. They come in many different shapes and sizes. They have a profound impact on us and never leave us the same. They either leave us bitter or better.
I like to say when we think that this is heaven, we will always be disappointed and have a tendency to become jaded.
Why ? Because this is not heaven. It is a fallen world, where things do not work the way God first originally designed it.. Things can and do happen that are devastating .
That is why Jesus said to us in John 14:1-6 “ Don’t let your hearts be trouble, Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so , I would have told you . I am going there to prepare a place for you. “
You see it basically depends on our belief in God and our perspective of about the here and now, and eternity .
Christopher Laurie, 33, son of Pastor Greg Laurie and Cathe Laurie, died last week, in a car crash while driving to Harvest Christian Fellowship, where he had served as the church's art director for the past three years. In addition to his parents, Christopher is survived by his wife, Brittany, and daughter, Stella, as well as his brother Jonathan.
